Tamina Therme

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE

21.09.21

Bad Ragaz, September 21, 2021

The Tamina Therme Bad Ragaz has completely renovated the interior of the sauna area in a renovation project lasting around four and a half months. The renovated rooms were redesigned with fine Greek marble, oak wood and glass blocks. A total of 2.3 million Swiss francs was invested. "An investment in the future", as Managing Director Annette Fink describes it. The centerpiece of the renovation is the new Pirts sauna, which is unique in Switzerland. A room specially designed for the Latvian sauna ritual with great health benefits.

The sauna has been used for thousands of years by many different cultures as a place to nurture body and soul. Bad Ragaz, a few kilometers from Chur and around an hour from Zurich, is home to one of the best sauna landscapes in Switzerland, the Tamina Therme. Its sauna world has recently been extensively renovated and expanded.

Everything for the guests

The Tamina Therme Bad Ragaz is fully committed to the three pillars of health, variety and experience. Maintaining and improving health is at the heart of everything we do. The Managing Director of Tamina Therme, Annette Fink, focuses on the emotions of her guests: "We are not just a spa, we are not just a sauna and have wellness offers. We offer a holistic wellness experience." She is also referring to her team, who take care of guests every day at the highest quality level and pamper them with real quality time.

To make all of this possible, it is important to Annette Fink to constantly develop herself further. "We are pleased to show our appreciation for our guests by investing even during the crisis." Around 2.3 million francs have been invested in the new building and renovation. The first conceptual steps for the renovation were taken before the outbreak of the pandemic, and the funds were approved at the end of 2020. Despite difficult business conditions, temporary closures and short-time working, Fink and the Tamina Therme Board of Directors were not dissuaded from sticking with the renovation. "Right now it is important to invest in the future, which gives us and our guests a positive horizon." The decisive factor was the renovation of the sauna area, which was due after more than ten years of operation. It was time to take the Tamina Therme sauna area to a new level of quality and experience. Sauna guests should be able to experience a valuable break from everyday life in the new sauna world. "With this renovation, the Tamina Therme is living up to its position as market leader in Switzerland."

Extensive new features

In addition to the existing Kelo houses, the sauna bistro and the outdoor area, the main focus of the current renovation was on the interior spaces. The renovation work took around four and a half months in total. The interior was completely modernized and furnished with fine materials and a breathtaking design. In addition, a cooling pool and a thermal water drinking fountain were added to the outdoor area, which had long been requested by guests. Guests now have a total of almost 2000 m2 of sauna area at their disposal. There are alternating indoor and outdoor areas, relaxation and adventure zones as well as the largest infusion sauna in Switzerland or completely private areas for individual treatments - a wide range of options are available to guests.

The entire interior was renovated during the refurbishment. All the saunas were redesigned and rebuilt from scratch. Guests can now choose from a bio-sauna at around 65°C, an infrared sauna, a classic Finnish sauna at 95°C and a Pirts sauna. There is also the Kelo sauna and the Nera ritual sauna in the outdoor area. Also new and even larger and more comfortable is the steam bath, which at around 24 m2 is one of the largest in Switzerland and conjures up a starry sky above the steam with 740 LED lights. For Managing Director Annette Fink, however, one place stands out in particular: "Our new and unique Pirts sauna is fantastic." With the new Pirts sauna, the Tamina Therme has added an extraordinary feature to its range of offers. Not only the design of the multifunctional sauna room, but also the materials are anything but ordinary. "There is nothing like it in Switzerland," says Fink. This multifunctional sweating room is not only suitable as a sauna, but can also be used as a treatment room. A step into the future of saunas and the associated treatments - not just the Pirts ritual. The wellness industry thrives on international influences - the implementation of the Latvian Pirts philosophy is an ideal addition to the portfolio of offers due to the focus on nature and combines very harmoniously with the philosophy of Tamina Therme. The offer was developed with an employee from Latvia who brought the traditional Pirts ritual to Bad Ragaz and successfully introduced it to guests.

For Annette Fink and her team, this renovation marks the next step in the ongoing development of the Tamina Therme. "But that doesn't mean we're resting on our laurels now," promises the Managing Director. Rather, she and her team can now continue to work in this wonderful workplace and do something good for guests day after day, offering them a break from everyday life. Because, according to Fink, a sauna world for dreaming has truly been created.
